Soft Washing Experts!

Most people think of pressure washing or power washing as blasting away dirt with high pressure — but that’s only part of the story. While pressure is ideal for driveway cleaning, patio cleaning, and brick or concrete surfaces, the truth is that about 90% of exterior cleanings actually use little to no pressure. This safer method is called soft washing.

Soft washing uses extremely low pressure—similar to the “shower” setting on a garden hose—to gently rinse your home’s surfaces. The real cleaning power comes from a professional-grade solution containing sodium hypochlorite, a chemical similar to household bleach. It’s carefully diluted to be safe for glass, grass, and landscaping while still powerful enough to eliminate mold, mildew, algae, moss, lichen, and other organic growth.

To enhance effectiveness, this solution is mixed with a surfactant (a type of soap) and allowed to dwell for 3–5 minutes before being rinsed away—much like giving your house a shower. Using only pressure is like rinsing off in the shower without soap—it might remove surface dirt, but it won’t fully clean or disinfect. By contrast, soft washing cleans deep and keeps surfaces protected for 1–3 years, depending on sun exposure and moisture levels.

This method is ideal for cleaning vinyl siding. By combining the right pressure and cleaning agents, you’ll not only make your property shine—but also extend the lifespan of your home’s exterior materials.
